“That’s it, I think that’s the one… Right?” We’d driven down a short snowy road just beyond the main slopes of Snoqualmie Pass to find Claire’s Dad’s cabin where we would shoot her and Brian’s very PNW engagement session. Every 50 feet or so, a plowed driveway would emerge from the road and lead to snow covered cabins in this gorgeous neighborhood. However, when we found our cabin, a plowed driveway wasn’t there to greet us. Instead, a giant snowbank where – if you looked hard enough – you could see a wood roof peaking out in the background. And honestly I wouldn’t have had the start to our mountain engagement session adventure any other way! So we strapped on our circa 1980s snowshoes and took to the driveway like a mountaineer takes to the backcountry.
Sixty feet and 10 minutes later we’d arrived at the most amazing little A framed cabin this side of the mountains. Then, we had THE MOST FUN!!!! Claire + Brian got cozy in the snow-covered forest, we held the silliest snowshoe race ever – complete with multiple falls and epic laughs -, drank beers that fit nicely in nature’s snow-formed coasters, and in all that we even took some great images. Pretty much my favorite way to spend an engagement session ever!
Thank you both so much for being silly and adventurous and fun! I can’t wait to do it again next January for your wedding.
